Hello Reader of this Blog-like-thing,
So, it is Tuesday, and we have been in Browning, Montana since Sunday night. The boys got the Big Boy room with the doors, and girls got the Little Boys room… We sleep in alcoves. They have defiantly gotten spoiled this tour. Haha. However, we got the awesome folding chairs for our sinks so we aren’t bending over to look in the mirror and such things. The showers hit the back of our heads though, which is amusing to me.
We also started working yesterday at the worksite!! There was a lot of cleaning to be done… and I mean a lot! Like, there was a ridiculous amount of trash! A bathtub and oven included. There was roofing, and a deck to build. I guess it was raining bird poo in the house, but I didn’t go in there, it was just the rumor around the trailer we all sit on for lunch.
The other worksite was VBS at the neighborhood head start center (like preschool kind of…) but sadly no kids have shown up yet. So us VBSers have been prepping the playground for future children with lawn work and a new playground. Unfortunately the playground is still a work in progress so there are two foot deep holes that are very easy to fall into. Before we arrived weeds ranging from two inches to two feet covered the surround fields but our little crew has massacred every weed in sight. I (Sara) personally had a vendetta against a weed bush that I finished today with a final kill by the uber-whacker. SUCCESS!! In addition to our weeding escapades we have also found the eyeless head of a baby-doll on a stick, seen roaming domestic dogs, and fallen in the previously mentioned swing holes.
Today it rained really hard. Almost up to Kentucky standards from last year, so we couldn’t really do much but cover our things and wait for the storm to slow so we could bolt up the muddy hill to wait for the bus to come and save us from the freezing rain. But, before the rain we finished taking all the shingles off the roof, put the deck in place, and a few of us (Me, Ashley, Pastor Chad, Chris and David…) put siding on the house, so now it looks all purty… or that part does anyways.
Right now they are straightening Danny’s hair… Someone has my camera, and everyone is taking pictures, and Connor is taking a video. I’m not sure if Danny will let that one get posted though. Haha. But at least he has pretty hair now. I hear it is quite soft, but he is losing major man points. But we will love him anyways.
Alas, I have also missed my cousin’s birthday again. So I must wish her a belated happy birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RITA!
We have learned just how useful a chair can be as our sinks come up to our knees. In our kiddie sized bathroom we are forced to either sit on the floor, kneel, get a good work out and squat, or use one of our handy-dandy chairs And I thought I looked silly having mine for my foot. Haha.
All in all, we are having so much fun in our little shenanigans. I have not hurt my toe yet which is a welcome relief. Though all the girls have now seen my spaz walk, which I must use when I don’t have my boot on. But they don’t judge even if Squishy does
Hope everyone is doing amazing in Colorado!!
