Dear people of Colorado!
Well we are finally on our way back home after a very interesting week. The rain continued through thursday into Friday, though we weren't able to go back go the worksite we still had plenty to do. We gave our camp good cleaning and a fresh coat of paint, sang at a nursing home, painted a skate park, bagged sand at the local fire house and cleaned the VBS building. But it wasn't all work, we also were able to perform our worship one more time at our friend Pastor Titus's church where they were all enthusiastic and engaged.
On Friday we were able to spend a wonderful and exciting day at Glacier National Park. The lake and the scenery were beautiful and as a group it was decided that we would take the three mile round trip hike up to Virginia Falls. Unfortuntely for me my broken toe was not too into this plan. Many spots were too rocky or too steep or too wet for my boot. In total I probably made it a mile and a half. I would have been left up at the falls if not for my knight in shining armor Chaz who carried me on his back the rest of the way. We caused our fellow trailmates to laugh smile or look at their fellow companions in hopes of a piggyback ride of their own. But little did we know that Chaz had not been eating much or drinking water that day yet he pressed on and got me down the hill and then did another hike. Shortly after returning to the parking lot he collapsed from exhaustion and dehydration. The park rangers and such arrived and took Chaz to the hospital in an ambulance. Luckily after they rehydrated him they returned him good as new and he was even able to join us for dinner.
Dinner was at a local burger joint and even though we didn't get to see the world's largest wooden spoon we still had fun. Then we went back to camp and had our final worship with the TEAMeffort crew. This turned out to be a very powerful and emotional experience that left the room a mess of red faces, running mascara and hugs. All in all we were all greatful that we were able to share this experience and come out of it much closer than we were before.
Now even though we had some powerful and serious experiences and structured fun we were still a group of silly teenagers. In our free time the girls and specifically Megan made up a hilarious tour song that had a little bit of everyone on tour in it. The boys bought wonderfully fun (though possibly politically incorrect but who really cared at that point) toy guns, bows and arrows, coonskin caps, and Canadian flags and proceeded to have an epic cowboys vs Indians battle. Both groups had fun and we all had fun during the camp talent show and game times :) In the words of Brian: I'll pter your dactyl ;)
Now we are back on our bus watching movies and playing My Cows. We are Back to the Future Part 3 and up next is Pocahontas followed by Armaggedon in honor of Connor and Mackenzie's birthday (though the movie is more for Connor).
Speaking of birthdays HAPPY BIRTHDAY GUYS!! We all love Connor and Mackenzie and celebrated their birthday with gifts and singing.
Basically we are all well and having a wonderful time thanks for reading this and checking up on us all!
Love,
Sara Brown

My my a lot off things have happened since the last update, and the ace reporter has been in the thick of it all, just for my endeering readers. When we last left off the herd was just awakening from our last esapade. We piled onto the bus and did the usual until we had arrived at The Good Shepard church, where the boys were welcomed by the youth room complete with table games and a band stage. The girls were justly welcomed by a basment. :) The unloading process took equally as long as at the other church but were not met in vain as the saturday night worship had a great welcoming turnout. I myself was content the rest of that night parrticularly because the best prayer partner got
me a blue ball that I've used almost every day. Further on we went to a local icecream shop a block away which amazed me on how many kids couldn't actually walk on the sidewalk as street racing cars sped by. The day was soon over and the next day had began. A great way to start this day off was to prove that if you kick a blue ball intended for kids hard enough it will break glass... Ahem furthermore the next worship service was more than expected too (but you can only improve from four people) Next we piled on the bus and headed for browning montana (that's spanish for mountain). Now the ace reporter doesn't often take things too seriously but he would like to convey the stark I that amazed everyone as we rolled up on Browning. It was quite obvious how the ways many were used to modern life for them was quite different from ours. Churches, boarded up houses all built to quite iffy building codes are surounded by free grown grass or barely running cars here. This place puts into perspective WHY we are here. Continuing on we ended up at a Blackfeet Indian boarding School, and were greeted by Team Effort, most of which come from down south giving us a good reminder of the accents we were with last year. The girls again got a room much like the basement with no doors while the boys recieved rooms and doors (which are quite soundproof as some boys have taken advantage of). The next day was spent meeting our new leaders and traveling to the work site. The work site was... as to put it nicely very strange. A lone house sits boarded up sourounded by garbage and axles and a lot of interesting items such as doll heads, plastic cows that were shot by guns and a creepy ghost. Needless to say the next day most of these items were tossed lovingly into the bonfire. To skip foward a bit, assuming you know the ultimate fate of our challenge and the epic ultimate frisbee game and that my awesome prayer partner gave me a box of fruit loops ( that's 1700 calories in two days), we end up on wenesday. That fine morning me and my awesome prayer group led jumpstart, which suprizingly went very well even with Christian. On the sad reality that our job site got rained out we were split up to different sites. The one at the boarding school got to paint and clean the place. Mrs. Selzer may I say your daughter is a slave driver when it comes to cleaning.... And most of you proud parents wonder what happened to the painters, would it suprise you to find out that most of them painted themselves more than the wall? That's pretty retorical. As for the remainder of the day we spent in down town browning buying overpriced moccasins and such trinkets likewise. Of course a bunch of boys insisted on buying plastic guns and arrows and reenacted the defense of Canada with thier Canadian flags and daniel Boone hats ( which I try not to laugh about to much when I type this). The night ended with salutary goodnights and the team effort worship. And finally we get to the day I remember the best. Thursday, today. One day before toy story 3 and two days before the most important one. The morning began with another jump start and another day for the girls to arive early and preparred, neat and clean. The boys on the other hand rolled out of bed wading through their rooms with little care on how thier hair stuck up or little on how they stumbled in two minutes before it began (in my case, schuster prounced in telling me and Chaz we had ten minutes to get ready for the morning while we just woke up). Then the ritual of getting breakfast ( Chaz has suprised us with the announcement of a diet). We then walked down to the chapel to once again find out that we were rained out again. So we then returned to what we did the best again..... painting fortunautley this time we got less on the face or at least some of us. Luckily we got the opportunity to do some random tasks around the community. Singing to a nursing home, flood prevention, and painting an indoor skatepark. Ah the skatepark.... Besides the fun of seeing three artists paint anything they wanted it turned out you could grab some major air if you were immature enough to run as fast as you could off the ramp :). We got some free time afterwards in which case most of us bought some awesome work shirts from team effort. The work shirts all have random names and random companiesx so the search is on for a good name. I found the endeering shirt that said Rick on it while othr classics such as Glenn flew off the shelf. Rick ( the adult) ran to grab the one that said old school as his final attempt at capturing some youthfullness. The day was finished off by going to the chiefs nephew, tytus (I hope that's how you spell it) and doing our gig one last time. The church was a far cry from what building codes we are used to, but the soul and passion and welcome we were given by the congregation there was by far the best we recieved out of all of them. It's in places like this where you understand the church is us, and I'm very thankful we had the opportunity to do so. Following the worship the Canadian trailer loaders Rick Randall Rod and Barney (me Andrew Chaz and Kenny respectivley) finished loading the trailer for hopefully the last time. And now I'm all caught up so I don't want to hear anymore where are you ace reporter, mom. Honestly every year of tour seems to get better and better and this year is no exception. Tommorow we go up to glacier national park, and hope Cory doesn't find a way to light it on fire. Well there's no more reporting to do for now unless you want to know about you snore loudest in my room (Chaz)...

Well! It’s Tuesday… I think. And so far the work has been great! Yesterday, we went to VBS… there weren’t any kids though. So it turned into yard work! We also went around the neighborhood to pass out flyers to recruit some VBSers.. but there weren’t any today either so I guess it didn’t work. We went to a Pow Wow last night, it was really amazing!! They did this dance around the fire and drums and singing, then told us stories about the education. So yesterday was pretty great, and we got back around 10:15. It doesn’t even get dark here till about midnight, so it’s really weird and confusing. Today some chaps got sick and couldn’t work. I went out to the work site, it was dirty but fun! We basically worked on the roof, built a huge bonfire, and cleaned out the inside. I did a little bit of everything cos I’m well rounded and productive. But it started to rain, so that interrupted our work and we hung out in the dirty house for a long time. It was good bonding to have 50 kids in such a small space. So now we’re back at base camp, and after me and Alexa styled Danny’s hair into beautiful straight locks (along with several other children- including Andrew Schuster) Now we want food. So I’m gonna go. Peace to you folks!!! See ya soon

Hello to all back at base Abiding Hope. Things at base Black Feet Lodge are going quite well for the time being. The voyage to the base went well with a few pit stops for the crew on tour. Once we arrived at the base the boys and girls separated for the night two wake up for a rough day of work to accomplish our mission.
Our mission- Restore a house that has been destroyed by a flood and to lead the VBS for the children on the reservation. The first day went well with no hitches. However, for the second day, our brave recruits were not so lucky.
First chapel led by the group containing Autumn, Shawn, Chaz, Elise, Aubrey, Kethry, Danny, and Monica. This is followed by a worm breakfast of eggs and sausage. Then, the crew headed out to the worksite.
The beginning of the day went well with nice sunshine and a light breeze to control the temperature from being too unbearable. About half of the entire crew stripped the shingles off of the roof of the house. Luckily, no one fell from the roof or was seriously hurt on the job. Though, the slick surface of the roof made the job difficult. Throughout the day, we lost three workers to a stomach bug. This unfortunate event did not hinder the efforts of our brave workers. As the wooden shingles fell from the roof, a few of the workers transported them to a burning pile which was soon ignited and roared on throughout the day with a fiery vengeance. Sadly, the fire came to an end as the rains came.
The ices cold rains were not exactly rains. They were more of slush balls falling from the sky. With the precipitation falling strongly, work on the roof of the house came to a close as everyone piled in the dilapidated house. As things the workers could do came to a close, they began to wonder when the bus would show up to transport them back to base Black Feet Lodge.
When the bus came around the corner, all of the crew rejoiced and piled on to their transportation. Back at the base, the boys and girls separated once again to shower away a day’s worth of grime. An intense battle took place as the girls fought for the shower. Once all had finished, a larger group gathered in the chapel to witness the straightening of Danny’s hair. Once it was finished, the end product was a man who looked like John BonJovi and then, when a bandana and peace shirt were added, a man who looked like Shaggy appeared. Following Danny, Andrew got his hair straightened and looked like a member of the Beatles. Currently the crew awaits a dinner to satisfy their appetites then will proceed to play games in the fields surrounding the base.
Now, all information has been transported. Do not share this with anyone whom you do not trust with your life. Or at least your friendship. Send my greetings to The boys and hello to Mom and Dad.

Hello Reader of this Blog-like-thing,
So, it is Tuesday, and we have been in Browning, Montana since Sunday night. The boys got the Big Boy room with the doors, and girls got the Little Boys room… We sleep in alcoves. They have defiantly gotten spoiled this tour. Haha. However, we got the awesome folding chairs for our sinks so we aren’t bending over to look in the mirror and such things. The showers hit the back of our heads though, which is amusing to me.
We also started working yesterday at the worksite!! There was a lot of cleaning to be done… and I mean a lot! Like, there was a ridiculous amount of trash! A bathtub and oven included. There was roofing, and a deck to build. I guess it was raining bird poo in the house, but I didn’t go in there, it was just the rumor around the trailer we all sit on for lunch.
The other worksite was VBS at the neighborhood head start center (like preschool kind of…) but sadly no kids have shown up yet. So us VBSers have been prepping the playground for future children with lawn work and a new playground. Unfortunately the playground is still a work in progress so there are two foot deep holes that are very easy to fall into. Before we arrived weeds ranging from two inches to two feet covered the surround fields but our little crew has massacred every weed in sight. I (Sara) personally had a vendetta against a weed bush that I finished today with a final kill by the uber-whacker. SUCCESS!! In addition to our weeding escapades we have also found the eyeless head of a baby-doll on a stick, seen roaming domestic dogs, and fallen in the previously mentioned swing holes.
Today it rained really hard. Almost up to Kentucky standards from last year, so we couldn’t really do much but cover our things and wait for the storm to slow so we could bolt up the muddy hill to wait for the bus to come and save us from the freezing rain. But, before the rain we finished taking all the shingles off the roof, put the deck in place, and a few of us (Me, Ashley, Pastor Chad, Chris and David…) put siding on the house, so now it looks all purty… or that part does anyways.
Right now they are straightening Danny’s hair… Someone has my camera, and everyone is taking pictures, and Connor is taking a video. I’m not sure if Danny will let that one get posted though. Haha. But at least he has pretty hair now. I hear it is quite soft, but he is losing major man points. But we will love him anyways.
Alas, I have also missed my cousin’s birthday again. So I must wish her a belated happy birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RITA!
We have learned just how useful a chair can be as our sinks come up to our knees. In our kiddie sized bathroom we are forced to either sit on the floor, kneel, get a good work out and squat, or use one of our handy-dandy chairs And I thought I looked silly having mine for my foot. Haha.
All in all, we are having so much fun in our little shenanigans. I have not hurt my toe yet which is a welcome relief. Though all the girls have now seen my spaz walk, which I must use when I don’t have my boot on. But they don’t judge even if Squishy does
Hope everyone is doing amazing in Colorado!!

Amongst all the uncertainty this morning, and the parents relieved to send their precious gifts away for ten days (Oh don’t think you weren’t seen this morning….) , tour began with a sense of adventure. To some of the newbies to this sort of trek, they were great observers of the fanfare that is commonplace to the bus, and then like lost wildabeasts, joined the herd in their frollock of fun. They were also quick to understand that in this herd, there are established rules maintained by the alpha males (Glenn, Brad). At the first roll call this herd had started roughly, but the alpha males were quick to asert the importance of this. By the second roll call the herd had the makings of a well oiled machine, but part of it may be attributed to the grazing session that had taken place before getting back on the bus. A sectional part of the herd once tried to establish there own fort on the bus, but the alpha males were quick to shoot them down in their attempt, claiming visual contact must be maintained at all times with the back of the bus (Some of this may have been hogwash, but the alpha males must feel control at all times). To quickly curb the rising discord, the alpha males threw in the movie Up knowing well that the puny little minds of the herd would be mezmorized by talking dogs and a crazy old man. At lunch grazing time the alpha males split the herd into little groups led by their young protage (also pronounced as: pro-te-jae) to start the brainwashing process of all of the minds. These YAMS as they are called are tasked with leading these recruits down the path the alpha males very well may have taken when they were little. After another long drive, the herd arrived at the Our Savior Lutheran Church. The herd quickly acted as one as rehearsed before and quickly set up to brainwash the minds of the local populace. They were rewarded accordingly with a big meal of italian noodles and were roaring to play. Unfortunautley the local populace was shy to check out the new invaders and only four brave souls arrived to worship. Afterwards, a terrential downpour slowed the repacking process of the herds equitment. Later the herd was unleashed for the night to do what they please as the alpha males layed back for the night….

Good Evening!!
We are sitting in a church in Casper, Wyoming. I must say that Wyoming is sooooo Soooo SOOOO much better than Kansas. West is still easily distinguished from East! Anyways. The bus was crazy as always… Making forts and such. We also lead our first worship, only four people attended, but that’s ok, it was still fun Not to mention dinner was pretty fantastic. :D We also had a rendition of The Phantom of the Opera played for us by Cameron, Nick and Emily, with Glenn playing the organ in the backgroud to the epic sword battle in which Cameron succeeded, won, and released an epic, evil cackle! Haha :D This church also possesses like… five flat screen TV’s, which confuses me, but I’m not judging.
Though, unfortunatly, I think I was spoiled last year with all the carpeted floors, and couches, and host homes to sleep in and offer me comfort, but, alas, this year the girls were put in the basement and have to sleep on the cold tile floor. We will all huddle like penguins and keep each other warm though. YAY! Haha. OH! And yes! Sara just reminded me about the flinging… Well, you know, you lay on the ground, and two people just fling you up into the air where you are expected to land nicely on your feet; however, Makenzie is the only one who succeeded in such a thing, posing while she was in the air. I’m sure her dance skills helped her with such grace! Also, Connor (the best out of all of them (or so he says… )), Schuster, and me attempted to play hacky sack, other people joined, but left soon afterwards. I am determined to learn how to play this game by the end of tour… If not, the end of the summer… Because it is so entertaining.
On a final note, everyone is safe, no broken bones… I don’t know about bruises, but, no one knows where those come from, so it is nothing to worry about. Enjoy your weekend! AND! Sara Brown has not hurt her toe yet! Although, this night is still young, and she is sleeping next to me… And I have a tendency to kick people in my sleep… So I love you Sara, and I am sorry in advance for any pain I cause you.
